Weekend Training

Off season training begins tomorrow with our main club cycle. We hope to have a few different ability groups on the road. It all kicks off at 9:00am at the Hotel. It would be great to see as many old heads and new heads as possible out with us. We have chosen a basic, flat route that will make it easier for newcomers to come with us. If you fancy giving cycling a go in 2020 then get out training with us tomorrow. Best of luck also to our runners who are taking part in the Novice Cross Country on Sunday in Newport.

New cyclists: make sure to have a racing bike + helmet. Hybrid bikes / Mountain bikes would not be suitable.

Viber Group: if you want to stay up to date with our training then join our viber group. Try out one of our cycles first and if you like it then ask about being added to our viber list.

Saturday Spin: meet at 9:00am at the Hotel.

Racing cyclists will meet at 8:00 at the hotel to get in an extra hour.

Route: we will cycle out to Roscrea and back at a handy enough pace. When we return to Toomevara, those that have had enough can cycle back to Nenagh. Those looking for more can turn left in Toomevara. The pace will increase considerably for those looking to do more. There will be a hill to do at Killeen then it’s on to Dolla, Silvermines and the Dublin Road. Depending on numbers we might split things early and we might not.

Try to use common sense on the cycle. If you are struggling a little on the way out to Roscrea, turn a little earlier before the roundabout and we will catch you up on the way back.

Sunday Spin: meet at Tescos at 8:00.

Route: we will be starting off our first off season Sunday with a trip around the lake. Back to back cycling on the weekend can really help your fitness. We all cycle together for the first hour to Portumna and then split into groups. There is a coffee stop on the 2 hour mark in Tuamgraney then we head for home.

Racing: Novice Cross Country in Newport. Stallion, Chick, Kelly and Bucks on the team. Bring back the cup!
