Weekend Training

So far the weather doesn’t look too bad for the weekend, cold but generally fine. We are coming into a new month now so the late starters should dust off the bike and get back out there. It’s a great way to keep the weight from piling on over the Christmas and you never know – you might enjoy it. If you are looking for big improvements try to get out on both days. We have two groups on the road so you should be able to find a bunch going at a speed that suits you.

Saturday Spin: meet at the Hotel at 9:00 (racing cyclists meet at 8:00)

Route: we will be heading to Roscrea, Templemore, Borrisoleigh, Templederry, Dolla and home. The racing cyclists will head to Thurles before turning for Borrisoleigh. In Roscrea, the racing group go ahead on the bypass and go up the hill out of Roscrea first. Group 1 should head the full way down the bypass and back. This will give the racing cyclists a head start and a chance to catch the other group before getting back to Dolla. Those looking for a shorter easier cycle have the option of turning at Dunkerrin for Templemore. Hopefully we all meet up again before we get back to Nenagh.

Sunday Spin: meet at Tescos at 8:00

Route: we will be doing the lake route with the usual coffee stop in Tuamgraney. Who will win the Will Rymer Memorial Sprint this week? Maybe the first group can stay away or maybe the racing lads can hunt them down. The shorter lake route will have you home for 12:00, the longer will be 12:45 or so.
