Weekend Training

It’s time to saddle up again as we head for the weekend. There will be groups on the road on Saturday and Sunday. The weather could be best described as changeable, so be prepared for all sorts. The Saturday cycle will still be going ahead as normal, but with the Ireland match on, numbers will likely be a little lower than usual. Take a gawk at the routes and know what our plans are. There will be a split in the bunch tomorrow at some point, so work out how much exactly you want to do and go do it. In terms of racing there isn’t much on, although we might have a few lads entering the Munster Novice Cross Country on Sunday. Best of luck if ye go!

More racing images from last week………….

Saturday Spin: meet at 9:00 at the Hotel. (racing lads out at 8:00 from the hotel)

Route: we are going to repeat the first route we did two weeks ago – out to Roscrea and back + a little extra for those wanting more. This time we will split a little earlier before we reach Toomevara on the way back. We might try to vary how we cycle depending on how many turn up. If new to the bunch, always take the advice you are given on board, the sooner we can all cycle well in a bunch the better the quality of cycle we will have.

3 things to work on

  1. don’t overlap wheels in front of you (stay behind the wheel) ——–>
  2. when talking to the person beside you keep your eyes on the road or wheel ahead. There is no need to stare across into their eyes!
  3. Keep your hands on the hoods so you always have quick access to the brakes.

Sunday Spin: meet at Tescos at 8:00am

Route: we will be heading around the lake. Half the group will probably do the extended lake route with others opting for the shorter route. Coffee stop in Tuamgraney. Interval at Portumna so choose the bunch and speed that suits you at this time of year.
