Weekend Cycling

It’s back to just plain ole cycling this weekend after our Winter Warrior and Hangover themed training days last weekend. The weather looks a little better on Saturday but a bit iffy on Sunday so stay tuned to Viber to see what is going ahead and what isn’t. Not long now to the winter break so try to make the most of what cycles are left. No winter hibernation just yet!!! Saturday Meet: 9:00 at the hotel Route: it’s the…

Nenagh Racing: Run Group – 10/12/17

Nenagh Racing: Run Group – 10/12/17 It was a quiet week on the racing front with nobody kicking ass this weekend. Training during the week was very tough but we all survived. The new speed endurance set on Wednesday was made even tougher by pretty poor conditions but fair play to everyone for getting through it. It’s tough days like that that will bring us glory in the future! There are 2 more weeks of official training before we take…

Nenagh CC Updates

Nenagh CC Updates – 10/12/17: That was quite an eventful week for the club. We had our usual turbo sessions during the week and our first Winter Warrior race on Saturday. It only seems like yesterday that we were starting into our winter training programme. We are now well into December so it’s amazing how quickly the weeks tick by. Mike B is the new club hero after his WW1 victory. He brings the title back to the club after…

Winter Warrior 1: Results

Winter Warrior 1: Results After what proved to be a very tough 50km of racing, Mike Browne came out victorious. After the race a clearly emotional Mikey declared this to be his finest victory ever, eclipsing his win in the Charleville 2 Day just a few months ago. Mike managed to break his two breakaway partners – the Kennedys, to record a fine win in a time of 1:14 with an average speed of around 39kmh. First woman home was…

WW1 + Club Night Out

WW1 + Club Night Out This Saturday is a big day for the club with some pleasure and pain on the menu. How much of each you want to put yourself through is up to you. Things kick off with our first Winter Warrior spin. As always this is just a bit of fun and serves one purpose – provide ammunition for slagging off in the pub afterwards. We hope to have 3 groups on the start line so just…

Nenagh Racing: Run Group Update – 03/12/17

Nenagh Racing: Run Group Update – 03/12/17 4 weeks down and things continue to move in the right direction. We have a good crew of runners out training with us now on Mondays and the quality of session is excellent. From this week on we are adding an additional evening run session to our weekly schedule. We also had 3 lads in racing action over the weekend. Performances at the races are still not where we would like them to…

Weekend Cycling

Weekend Cycling The weather is looking decent for this weekend. We should have very little wind + clear skies but it might be a little cold. The severe frost and ice of last week shouldn’t be there thankfully. We will go with the route we were supposed to do last Sunday before the bad weather conditions forced a late change. On Saturday we will head Thurles way. Try to get out with us if you can. Saturday Meet: 9:00 at…

Nenagh Racing – Run Group Update – 26/11/17

Nenagh Racing – Run Group Update – 26/11/17 We may be only 3 weeks in existence but we are already clocking up quite a few race appearances. Granted most of those are from Gary, who has gone off on one of his usual race benders!! Over the last two weeks Gary raced twice while Shane got out once. As the rest of the racing group continue their speedwork we would expect more to start committing to regular racing soon enough.…

Nenagh CC Updates

Nenagh CC Updates: 26/11/17 There were good numbers out on the bike on what was another pretty miserable weekend for cycling. As cyclists you get used to bad spells of weather but this spell keeps dragging on! On Saturday we had ice to deal with and then on Sunday it was the turn of the rain with some added salt flavouring from the previous days grit. Delicious!! Dirty days like today are great for helping to identify the weak-minded. Just…
