Club Training: 03/01/19

Happy New Year to all our club members. 2020 training kicks off this weekend with two big cycles on Saturday and Sunday. January is a time to start getting focused. The racing season draws ever closer so it’s time to banish the excuses and just get out on your bike consistently. Make a New Year’s Resolution to get out cycling with the club every week and you will see the benefits. At the end of the month we will have a Winter Warrior race to let you know exactly how you are progressing. Use that as an intermediate goal / stepping stone towards gaining a great level of fitness for the start of the year. If you want to be part of a strong club in 2020 then make the effort to support the club. We are only as strong as the amount that come out cycling with us. Everyone has their part to play. Don’t always just leave it to others to keep the club going. With that in mind let’s hope for a good turnout this weekend; take a look at the routes we have planned and come out and do what you can.

Insurance: Cycling Ireland membership is compulsory in the club. It expired for everyone at the end of the year so make sure to renew your license asap.Thanks.

Club Gear: an order will be going in very soon so try to work out what you need for the season and get purchasing.

Saturday: meet at the Hotel at 9:00 (racing cyclists out at 8:00)

Route: we will be doing the Dolla – Newport route. The group will split early for this so as to give everyone enough time to climb Dolla hill at their own pace. We recommend everyone cycles out towards Toomevara. Group 1 should take the first right turn after the flyover. Group 2 should turn in Toomevara and Group 3 should cycle in towards moneygall before turning. All the groups will come together somewhere between Dolla and Newport.

Sunday Spin: meet at Tescos at 8:00am.

Route: we will be doing the Borrisokane, Moneygall, Templemore, Borrisoleigh (coffee stop), Dolla route. Plenty of turn for home early points for those feeling a little bit unfit after the Christmas.
