Nenagh CC: Updates – 18/02/18

Nenagh CC: Updates – 18/02/18 A weekend that promised to be the first decent weekend in a while for training turned out to be more than a little bit miserable. Ice on the roads on Saturday meant we had a delayed start and Sunday was drizzly all morning but at least it was mild out so we still had good numbers out. The quality of session right now is very good and you can feel tiredness in the legs by…

Weekend Cycling

Weekend Cycling It’s back to our normal weekend spins this weekend as we take a break from our winter warriors. It feels like ages since we last had a club spin and I for one am looking forward to getting back out there and putting some big mileage in the legs. The weather looks a little milder than it has been for a while so that’s a bonus. After the crap winter we have just had, things can only get…

Nenagh CC Updates

Nenagh CC: Updates – 11/02/18 We had another weekend of ups and downs. As per usual the weather interupted things, forcing us to cancel our Sunday cycle due to snow on the ground. It wasn’t all negative though as we had a great Winter Warrior Race on Saturday. The face of pain on so many lads in our video and photos tells you the story of that day. Tough days like that will bring you on a lot. We had…

Winter Warrior 3: Race Report

Winter Warrior 3: Race Report We probably had the best day of the year so far for today’s WW3 event. The temps were up and the rain stayed away. The wind was pretty strong though and that made for lightning fast speeds to Roscrea, followed by a funeral procession back the way. Today’s star performer was Arminas Meskauskas from Collins Cycle Centre who cycled like a man possessed. He was on a revenge mission from last year where he remembered…

Nenagh CC Updates

Nenagh CC Updates Been busy the last few days so I’m a bit late with the updates. For those that think the world is ending because of no update – it’s not. The same club training sessions will take place on the same days as usual. The big event this week will no doubt be Winter Warrior 3 on Saturday (full details below), where we will tackle a longer and hillier course – so you better start that diet now!…

Weekend Cycling

Weekend Cycling After last week’s big WW2 event, it’s back to normal club training tomorrow. The weather is looking decent for the weekend and there is no better time to jump in with us for some quality training. It’s a new month, the evenings are getting brighter and winter is almost over. Rumours are rife that we will be welcoming back Le Chunk to the group. He was last seen on a bike at the top of Alpe D’Huez. Tis…

Nenagh CC Updates 29/01/18

Nenagh CC: Updates 29/01/18 Training got back on track last week with some quality work being put in by everyone. Good midweek attendances and workouts on the turbo were followed up by a fantastic weekend consisting of our popular Winter Warrior event and another well attended Sunday long distance cycle. Not the best week for yours truly to miss through sickness but hearing about it all from the sidelines makes you even more determined to get back out there asap.…

Weekend Cycling

Weekend Cycling It’s a big weekend for the club with the 2nd of our Winter Warrior spins taking place on Saturday, Jan 27th. As the racing season edges ever closer we need to start pushing ourselves a little bit harder. This Winter Warrior spin will give you a good idea of where your fitness is at and it will get your heart and lungs back used to that old familiar burn. If Saturday is about speed then Sunday will be…

Nenagh CC Updates 21/01/18

Nenagh CC: Updates 21/01/18 Well that sure was a disaster of a weekend. We have loads of cyclists dying to get out and put in some quality training but the weather just isn’t playing ball at the moment. It makes writing these notes a lot quicker but that certainly isn’t my wish. On Saturday, we had a good turnout, given the starting conditions, but the rain just kept coming and after an hour, most had turned for home. Sunday was…

Weekend Cycling

Weekend Cycling The last 5 days have probably been the worst 5 days for cycling in quite some time with freezing conditions and storms passing through. Temperatures are due to rise this weekend though, so hopefully we will get two great days out on the bike. It would be great if we could string two good weeks together after last weekend’s two great spins. Fingers crossed the weather gods are kind. The big question is whether we will see Will…
